All trained users on the old Aria will need to be re-certified starting March 1. We will be switching to the integrated nozzles which are significantly more expensive ($20 for an 0-ring vs $800 for an integraterd nozzle). They are easier to use than the old style ones (no more lost o-rings) but require a little more care. We expect the re-certification to take about 15 - 30 minutes per person. All user logins on the Windows computer for the Aria will be disabled on the night of Sunday Feb 28. Please schedule your time with Cathy via email ASAP.
DiVa Software Change March 1
Currently to use the DiVa software on the Arias, LSR IIs, and Vantoo you need to log into Windows first, then log into DiVa. When done, you need to log out of both. Doing so disconnects the instrument from the computer, and shuts down the sheath stream on the Arias. This makes transitions between users somewhat slow.
On March 1, the will be a general Windows account requiring no password on all the DiVa systems. It will be started with the first user on the system is to remain logged in all the time. As users, you will only need to log into the DiVa software, which will track your use time for accounting purposes. More information will be forthcoming as March 1 approaches.
